Why work with me?

Clients choose me for my approachable, relatable and kind personality.

I create for them a space which is free from judgement and where they feel safe to talk. We laugh a lot in our sessions, but I don’t shy away from challenging and keeping them accountable!

Since 2017 I have worked with governments, armed forces and some of the biggest companies in Europe, advising their cybersecurity teams on training and development. Although it is not needed for a coach to have a knowledge of the industry they operate into, this experience in cybersecurity makes it easier for me to relate to your challenges, and to speak your language!

I am GISF and GSLC (GIAC Security Leadership) certified and I have an ILM in Leadership and Management. In addition you can be sure that my coaching skills are top notch and informed by the latest research as I have an MA in Coaching and Mentoring at Oxford Brookes University. Finally, I am a Certified Practitioner and Professional Member of the European Mentoring and Coaching Council, and I adhere to their Global Code of Ethics in my practice.

Frequently Asked Questions

Coaching fills the gap between who you are and who you can become. The aim of coaching is to provide you with a confidential opportunity to achieve your goals, broaden and develop your understanding of self and consider future possibilities and potential.

Coaching is not therapy or counselling.

If you Google this question you will find a huge debate on this differentiation. For me it boils down to this:

– Coaches do not have the same training as therapists. We don’t have the same licensing standards. This is because coaches don’t diagnose, heal, or “fix” anyone. Coaches are not responsible for their clients (although a duty of care always applies). The clients are individuals who are capable of taking full responsibility for themselves.

– Coaching doesn’t focus on issues, but rather on growth, objectives, change, moving forwards. It is future oriented and there is little need to talk about “the past” in great detail. For this reason, coaching engagements are shorter.

– In coaching, client and coach are equal. The client is the expert in his/her own life. We work following the client’s agenda.

– An ethical coach will refer their client to therapy if needed.

If you have any other questions and concerns, I will be happy to discuss this differentiation further with you.

When you first contact me, we will schedule a free 30 minutes consultation. This is necessary to test whether we are compatible and to decide if we are a good fit to work together. After the consultation, as soon as we are both happy to proceed, I will send you a proposal/contract and a questionnaire.

Before every session, take a few minutes to reflect on what you would like to discuss.

In the 60 minutes, you can decide how you would like to divide your time between the issues that you are going to bring to the session. Don’t worry too much about the structure, I will guide you through it and the conversation will progress naturally.

We will go straight to the point and start exploring the first issue and develop an action plan or any type of appropriate outcome. We will explore a second issue if time allows. Sometimes I will give you homework or exercise to do between sessions. Please try your best to engage with the material, although nothing is compulsory, you will be surprised by what you can learn about yourself!

As a coach, I am not here to give you advice and tell you what to do, I am here to support you but also push you and make you reflect, plan and commit.

To answer this question, I encourage you to book a free 30 minutes consultation. At the end of the 30 minutes you will know if I am the right coach for you and if coaching is what you need right now. There is no hard selling, you have nothing to lose, and some people think I am nice 🙂 .
I would not take on a client if we are not a good fit for each other. If I believe we would work well together, I will follow up the call with a proposal via email. If we are not a good fit, I can certainly refer you to another coach or therapist, or suggest you another course of action.

The topics we cover each time are totally up to you, what you need and what is important for you to work on. I normally start by asking you: “what’s on your mind?”. From there the conversation flows naturally, you will be surprised!

Coaching will work best if you decide to be radically open and honest. There will be some questions that require out of the box thinking and engaging with your feelings, imagination, visualization and possibilities. These might feel challenging because they will force you to think in a different way and get out of your comfort zone. Please try to engage as much as possible and answer them to the best of your abilities. I am not looking for the right answer, I am looking for you to reflect. This is not easy, but please be assured that coaching is a non-judgemental, supportive space.

At the same time, if there is something you don’t want to talk about, feel free to say so. It is your time, so use it the best you can!

Yes, I work with people. As long as we are a good fit for each  other, nothing else matters.

What my clients say

Cristina is not afraid to challenge and helped me to question and look closer at myself and what I really wanted in terms of my goals. She is intellectually incredibly robust and was able to refer me to recent thought leadership and writing which was so applicable, I felt it described me perfectly. This has really helped look at new ways to develop my career and see strengths where I felt weakness in the past.

Suzie R.

While I thought I had already clear in my mind what and how to do to pursue my career goals, Cristina helped me to focus on the steps I needed to get through the challenges of my professional roadmap. I faced with her how to improve some communication and leadership skills.
